Direct answer

Fields of Mistria 0.16.3 was a non-content follow-up to the engine migration. The official notes focus on large-resolution performance, farms with several animals, visual corrections, and crash fixes. This is historical troubleshooting context; it is not a guarantee that every current 1.0.x device or save has the same issue.

What changed

The High-Res Framebuffers setting was removed because the feature is now always enabled. The patch also addressed general performance at large resolutions, screen tearing when VSync is enabled, gameplay stutters, and slowdowns caused by farms with several animals. The official recommendation for remaining tearing is to check VSync both in the game and in the graphics driver.

Visual fixes covered Winter sheep, the Final Seal cutscene, the Town bridge shadow, and Summit Wallpaper. These are presentation fixes rather than new unlocks or item records.

Crash-fix boundaries

The notes list fixes for bugs spawning out of bounds, entering a room after casting Summon Rain, opening the journal during crafting, the date version of the Shooting Star Festival with the secret bachelor or bachelorette, failed pheromone spawns, Celine’s 4-heart event, controller trigger buttons, disconnecting a controller while entering text in Big Picture mode, animals during the end-of-day menu, and interacting with Ruins Window furniture.

The patch also fixed the Final Seal cutscene graphical issue again in a hotfix. These are narrow reproduction boundaries. They should not be read as a claim that every crash with a similar symptom has the same cause.

Known issues and current-use note

The official page still listed lower-spec performance issues, menus that could occasionally get stuck, and low-memory startup crashes as known issues. For a current report, record the installed game version, platform, hardware, mods, and exact reproduction steps. Use this page to interpret a 0.16.3-era report, then check the newer 0.16.4, 0.16.5, and 1.0.2 notes before applying an old workaround.

Next step

For current stability questions, compare the installed version with the dedicated 0.16.4, 0.16.5, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 pages before reporting a bug.
