Direct answer

Fields of Mistria 0.15.3 was a quality-of-life and bug-fix patch that also added recipes, Lava Caves adjustments, new Saturday Market stock, and several routine and festival fixes. The official notes are historical version context: they explain what changed in 0.15.3, but they do not prove that a current 1.0.x save has a particular recipe, request, or NPC route unlocked.

Lava Caves, food, and new stock

The Lava Caves spawn rates were adjusted, including an increased Smoke Moth rate. The patch also added new Inn dishes after the Inn Upgrade questline: Herb Butter Pasta, Fish Tacos, Veggie Sub Sandwich, Coconut Cream Pie, Spring Galette, and Gazpacho. Seafood Boil was added to the Inn’s stock, with additional dishes becoming available after the Inn upgrade.

With the Dungeon Delicacies perk active, four additional food items can drop from chests in the Lava and Ruins biomes. The Taste Maker perk can add Spell Fruit Parfait, Pizza, Spicy Corn, and Cucumber Sandwich recipes to Ruins chests. These perk conditions are version-labelled; do not turn them into a universal drop table without current item-level evidence.

Merri’s Saturday Market stall gained Cherry and Lemon furniture sets, and Louis’s stall gained seasonal player cosmetics. The official notes also added Jackets as a Character Customization category and new Ruins window decor.

Progression and quality-of-life changes

In the Ruins biome, the Magic Key can be harvested with a shovel. Shipping a Glowberry can now unlock the Glowberry Cookies recipe by letter on the following day; players who shipped one before the change receive the letter after sleeping. The Auto-Feeder’s auto-stack action now transfers like-items only, and failed Fish Bait summons return the bait to the ground instead of consuming it silently.

The patch moved pet beds from Merri’s stall to Hayden’s shop. It also added a speakerless Bath text variant when neither Dozy nor Juniper is at the counter, and corrected several fishing, lighting, wallpaper, flooring, and character-sprite presentation issues.

NPC, festival, and bug-fix boundaries

Festival Dates at the Shooting Star and Harvest Festivals no longer make an NPC ineligible for a date the following weekend. Wheedle’s Written Root request is now withheld until the Saturday Market is upgraded, and NPC routines recover more reliably after a time jump. Caldarus’s location-specific line and seasonal Lobster request were also corrected.

Other fixes cover unearned Seal Room translations, Dragon-Forged Sword icons, Sure Strike, Flying Tome invulnerability, duplicate cosmetics and pet skins, wallpaper and flooring previews, pause-audio behavior, and the Fishing Rod tutorial card. These are narrow fixes from the official changelog, not a blanket claim that every old save or mod is compatible.
