Direct answer
Fields of Mistria 0.14.0 was the third major update. The official notes added the first 8-heart events for romanceable villagers, a Dating status with weekend dates, date photo cards, the Fall 10 Harvest Festival, new Saturday Market vendors, purchasable greenhouses, new skill perks, and a new Museum set. It also raised the NPC heart cap from 6 to 8 and the Renown cap from 90 to 95.
This page is a historical patch reference. It does not turn the old update notes into a current save checklist, and it does not assume that every 0.14.0 unlock or reward is still pending in a 1.0.2 save.
Romance and date systems
The update added 8-heart events for romanceable NPCs. During those events, the player could choose a “Best Friends” or “Dating” status. The Dating system then allowed weekend dates and awarded a Photo Card for the first date of each type. The official notes explicitly said that players could date multiple NPCs at the same time, while only one eventual marriage was possible.
The notes also added a Shooting Star Festival date cutscene for players who were dating an NPC, with a corresponding photo card. These are version-labelled mechanics, not evidence of a character-specific route requirement for a current save.
Greenhouses and town progression
Greenhouses became purchasable at the Carpenter’s Shop. The official unlock note required completion of the “Upgrade the Carpenter’s Shop” questline. The update also added the “Upgrade the Saturday Market” questline, which required the previous town repair quests and Renown level 65, and it added new vendors including Taliferro and Wheedle.
Home Upgrade 4 became available through the Carpenter’s Shop after the same Carpenter upgrade questline. It added a second story and three access options: stairs, a ladder, or a teleportation pad. These conditions are preserved here as 0.14.0 history; they are not silently copied into the current quest database.
Festival, skills, and world content
The Harvest Festival arrived on Fall 10, with the Queen Berry gathering competition beginning on Fall 7. The update also added the Cooking Challenge and new Saturday Market rewards, new cooked-dish recipe scrolls, the Mist Artifact Museum set, new Lava Caves monsters, and the ability to catch Clod projectiles with the bug net.
The Skill Cap increased from 45 to 60. The notes list new Tier 4 and Tier 5 perks across Farming, Fishing, Archaeology, Woodcrafting, Cooking, and Combat, including Earthly Essence, Magic Design, Abyssal Ascendence, Natural Beauty II, Mist Sight, Working with the Grain II, Fairy Cooking, Guardian’s Shield II, and True Strike II.
Stability and evidence boundary
The official bug-fix list includes autosave separation, Caldarus progression, animal feeding, pet animations, visual issues, and several crash fixes. It also states that custom item IDs from mods should no longer crash during deserialization. A historical fix is not a guarantee that an unrelated mod, platform, or current save has the same behavior.
For a current troubleshooting answer, check the installed version first, keep a local save backup, and use the current 1.0.1/1.0.2 pages rather than applying an old 0.14.0 requirement. The site intentionally keeps exact current quest states, item prices, map coordinates, and farm footprints separate until they have current field-level evidence.
Next step
Use the official 0.14.0 page for historical change details, then switch to the current-version patch and support pages for an active save. If a feature appears missing, record the installed version, platform, save age, and exact reproduction steps before treating it as a regression.
