Direct answer

The official FAQ is the safest starting point for platform and returning-player questions. Fields of Mistria is officially available on Windows PC and is Steam Deck compatible. The developer says other console ports are still being evaluated; that is not an announcement of a release date.

Existing saves and achievements

The official 1.0 Update FAQ says existing saves carry over to 1.0, so a player does not need to restart solely to access the new content. It also says eligible achievements are awarded retroactively. This is a release-policy statement, not a guarantee that a particular save has completed every prerequisite.

Languages

The official FAQ lists the first beta localization wave as Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The 1.0 FAQ says beta translations may be incomplete and that unavailable text can temporarily appear in English. Do not treat “language listed” as proof that every late-game line is fully translated.

Marriage and family choices

The official FAQ says marriage candidates are not locked by gender. The 1.0 FAQ also states that dating multiple characters before marriage changes the other relationships to “best friend” status after marriage, and that having a child is optional. These are the official relationship boundaries; the page does not infer character-specific heart-event triggers or save flags.

Where to verify the current version

Use the official FAQ, the official 1.0 Update FAQ, and the 1.0 release announcement as the source of truth for these policy-level facts. For patch-specific fixes, check the version-labelled Patch Center pages instead of applying an older guide to a current save.

Evidence boundary

This guide does not claim console availability, a universal Linux distribution guarantee, exact save-file locations, a complete translation percentage for every build, or save-specific unlock conditions. Those claims require separate current evidence.

Next step

Check the installed game version and platform first. Then open the matching official FAQ or version-labelled support page; if the problem concerns a particular save, keep a local backup and report the reproducible steps through the official feedback channel.
